Christmas spice blend

Christmas time is very different in the Southern hemisphere. When the rest of the world are enjoying pumpkin spiced lattes and cozy winter nights, I am looking on feeling very confused about my want to join in, all the while trying to enjoy summer and not overheat.IMG_0106 (2)One thing that is easy to embrace is all things spiced. I have been covering my coffees in cinnamon this year, COVERING. Cinnamon challenge everyday folks. Now that Christmas is upon us, it’s time to step the spice up a notch. I present to you, the Christmas spice blend. IMG_0119 (2)I love to sprinkle it on top of my hot coffees, mix it into my morning oats and also add it to my iced coffees! IMG_0121 (2)What you need:

  • Cinnamon
  • Ground Ginger
  • All Spice
  • Nutmeg
  • Jar with lid

The blend:

  • 1 part Cinnamon
  • 1 part Ginger
  • 1/4 part All Spice
  • 1/4 part Nutmeg

This is where it gets difficult. Not! Just measure all the spices into the jar and give it a shake!

Using spices is a great way to add flavour to food and drinks without using sugar, and lets be real, we are all having a lot of sugar at this time of year!
